Doral, Florida March 14, 2016 – Mustad Pro Edwin Evers won his career first Bassmaster Classic Championship Trophy with a record setting 29lb 3oz final day limit. In historic fashion, Evers erased a significant 6lb 5oz deficit to walk away with the Classic on Grand Lake by more than 10lbs!
Nicknamed “E²”, Edwin is one of the most successful and popular anglers in Bassmaster Elite Series®. His skill, ability to quickly adapt to fishing conditions, and competitiveness has made Evers one of the most respected and hottest pros on the tour, earning him his 11th Elite Series title, and third win since June!
“Fishing against top level competition, it is absolutely critical that I am totally confident in everything I use, “says Evers. “I have always fished Mustad because I can depend on Mustad UltraPoint Hooks to be super strong, and stay sharp. I cannot stress enough what it means to your day, and your season, when you aren’t having to constantly sharpen or change your hooks.”
Mustad UltraPoint Hooks have played a role in winning at least 10 Bassmaster Classic titles since being launched 19 years ago; and the second consecutive win for Mustad since Casey Ashley announced Mustad UltraPoint was key in his Classic Win last year.
Faced with changing conditions, Edwin fished a variety of baits and hooks during the three day event:
•Andy’s Custom Bass Lures E Finesse Jig rigged on 32798NP-BN UltraPoint Jig Hook
•Mega Bass Flap Slap® rigged with TG76NP-BN 1X Strong / 2X Short KVD Elite Series Triple Grip Trebles
•Zoom Z Hog® Flippin’ Bait rigged on G34131NP-BN UltraPoint Grip-Pin Max Flippin’ Hook
