Bassmaster Elite Series Pro Angler Brandon Lester took to the podium this weekend at the St. Croix Bassmaster Southern Open on the Kissimmee Chain with a three-day total of 51lbs and 2oz.

With 225 big-name bass anglers fishing this weekend, Lester's first B.A.S.S. victory was no small task in his home state.

This weekend, it wasn't only his experience in bass fishing that was put to test, but also his expertise in bass rod design. Together with Mustad, Brandon Lester has been designing and testing next-level bass rods built for pros and avid anglers alike.

"The rods performed perfectly this week. The action, power, and weight of each rod is really dialed in and they’ll do anything I need them to do."

Over the past two years, Lester and Mustad have been collaborating closely on developing a bass-focused series of 14 rods. A range of spinning, crankbait, and baitcaster rods built with premium components to handle the rigorous use of a proffessional angler will soon hit the market.

"During my win, I mostly used the 7’6” Heavy baitcasting rod for pitching a lightweight texas rig to bedding fish," Lester said following his win, "I also found success with the 7’3” crankbait rod for my chatterbait setup."

Mustad's success won't be limited to the Instinct bass rod range, so stay tuned for more on Mustad rods!
