With year round fishing seasons and the world's largest sport fishing fleet, it's no wonder more fish are caught in San Diego than anywhere else. The area has numerous lakes and reservoirs filled with large trout and even world-record largemouth bass; some of the all-time biggest largemouth bass were caught in San Diego, including the famous 25.1-pounder affectionately known as "Dottie" featured in National Geographic.
