The Marketing Director will oversee marketing campaigns and branding techniques from brainstorming ideas to implementing large-scale plans. This individual must conduct research and analyze trends to develop the overall Marketing strategy for the company. This would include the Mustad, LIVETARGET, and TUF-Line brands. The Marketing Director must be an excellent communicator— whether it's for pitching new business or writing customer lifetime value reports. The ability to garner consensus from a large team is important and obtaining stakeholder buy-in on new, complex, or challenging ideas is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of brand strategy and help drive overall brand strategy and corporate identity initiatives
  • Develop and implement marketing plans, including promotional calendars and programs, new product introductions, PLC initiatives, and other marketing projects
  • Oversee the creative, production, and budget for advertising and media executions such as print, digital, web, and create content packs, workflows, and leverage marketing, and communication through other sales channels
  • Develop and manage annual marketing plan incl. for freshwater and saltwater communities and their marketing budgets
  • Develop sales forecasting and annual product branding plans.
  • Establish and grow a target market share.
  • Build Mustad brands’ presence in the fishing space and boost brand awareness
  • Analyze brand positioning and consumer insights.
  • Conduct customer, brand, and product research initiatives.
  • Oversee community event strategy to scale our grassroots efforts in key markets.
  • Negotiate with media partners to guarantee advantageous contracts
  • Work with new business development team and sales teams on brand initiatives
  • Manage pro-staffers, agency providers, consultants, freelancers, and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Supervise a marketing team, including hiring, training, workloads, schedules, and deadlines
  • Partner with content development (inhouse, pro-staffer, externals) for web, social media, (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, blog, etc.), and advertising to foster awareness and affinity within the fishing community
  • May oversee the operation of a company’s website and email marketing program and provide analytics review
  • Track ROI on all traditional and digital marketing initiatives through data analysis to quantify the success of marketing campaigns and understand their impact and effectiveness.
  • Provide KPI reporting and recommendations for improved outcomes

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree required; Marketing or Business Administration preferred
  • 7+ years of experience, including 3 years managing a marketing team
  • Knowledge of finance, especially expense management and profit and loss statements
  • Deep knowledge of the offshore, inshore, fly, and bass fishing community
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Autonomous, with a strong ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Well organized, professional, composed, and approachable
  • Ability to be progressive in thinking and development
  • Familiarity with the creative side of marketing and design is important


We are looking for a talented Social Media Manager to administer our social media accounts. You will be responsible for creating original text and video content, managing posts, and interacting with fans. You will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals. As a Social Media Manager, we expect you to be up to date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. We are currently seeking an innovative and dedicated Graphic Designer to join our team. You will collaborate with the marketing department and eCommerce to create effective and eye-catching images and campaigns to increase our customer base. Your job duties include developing graphics both for print and digital platforms (mostly) that enhance our accompanying text and convey an accurate message. Our ideal candidate has a substantial portfolio of successful campaigns and is proficient with Adobe Creative Suite. Having a strong passion in the outdoors and fishing industry is a plus!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans and illustrates concepts by designing rough layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetics and branding.
  • Coordinates with internal teams, including marketing, in the design concept phase through completion of a project.
  • Obtains approval of concepts by preparing rough layouts for review.
  • Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
  • Obtains final copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment and by making purchases from vendors when required.
  • Coordinates with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc. to complete projects.
